Increasing Access to High-Quality Literacy in Schools is designed to empower educators with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to enhance literacy outcomes for students. Further, educators will learn to identify and surmount barriers such as socioeconomic and cultural constraints, fostering an inclusive approach to literacy education.  This course goes beyond theoretical knowledge, offering practical insights into building a solid foundation for high-quality and inclusive literacy instruction, equipping teachers with actionable strategies to implement in their classrooms. Throughout this course, educators will learn about (1) the definition and importance of literacy in personal and societal development, (2) the essential components of early literacy instruction, (3) the challenges hindering access to high-quality literacy instruction, (4) strategies for enhancing access to high-quality literacy instruction in schools, and (5) future trends and directions in literacy instruction.
