CEU Course Description

Transforming Math Education and Instruction provides K-12 educators with research-backed strategies to enhance student engagement, equity, and achievement in mathematics. This course examines the limitations of traditional math instruction and explores innovative approaches that emphasize deep understanding over rote memorization. Participants will analyze the impact of inequities in math education, including disparities in achievement and access, and learn strategies to create inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments. Through an exploration of research-based instructional methods, educators will discover effective techniques such as mathematical inquiry, differentiated instruction, and project-based learning. Additionally, the course highlights the role of technology in math instruction, offering practical ways to integrate digital tools, adaptive learning platforms, and personalized learning approaches. By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the tools to transform their math instruction, foster a growth mindset in students, and create meaningful, real-world learning experiences.
