CE Course Description
This short beginning CEU level course is designed to give an overview of bipolar disorder in children and adolescents. It was developed using current, research-based information from the National Institute of Mental Health, and highlights the risks, symptoms, and treatment of bipolar disorder in young people. It would be appropriate for anyone who is interested in learning more about this disorder effects children.
CE Course Objectives
1. Discuss available resources to assist families of children with bipolar disorder.
2. Define the term bipolar disorder and describe the common symptoms of the disorder in children and adolescents.
3. Identify ways that bipolar disorder effects young people differently than adults.
4. Evaluate various medications and psychotherapeutic techniques used to treat children and teens with bipolar disorder, including side effects and risks.
