CEU Course Description
Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) is a pedagogical initiative that concerns itself with writing in all academic content areas. When writing is incorporated across the curriculum, students become better critical thinkers, readers, and learners. With the need to meet rigorous academic standards, as well as prepare for post-secondary school and the job force, there is a need for WAC programming in K-12 schools. In this course, participants will learn (1) the benefits of writing across the curriculum; (2) what successful writing instruction entails and supports needed by teachers to do so; and (3) practical ways to bring writing into classrooms across disciplines.
